On April 24 at 17.00 the 42nd International Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition for young opera singers in the Baltic region will take place in the historical Dzintari Concert Hall, in which young singers from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia traditionally participate.
Entrance with free invitations, which can be picked up at any “Biļešu paradīze” sales point or website (one person can pick up up to 10 invitations).
The selection rounds of the competition in Europe, Canada and the United States will take place from March to the end of May this year, while the finals of the competition will take place in Latvia, at the Dzintari Concert Hall, from June 2 to 9.
The prestigious competition, named after the founder of the Vienna Chamber Opera, Hans Gabor, is a decisive event in the career of young singers, because by participating in the competition, they get not only monetary prizes, but also permanent cooperation offers. For 42 years, the competition has been opening doors for young vocalists to the world’s most prestigious opera stages. Past participants and laureates include opera stars Elīna Garanča, Angela Gheorghiu, Marina Mescheriakova, Ildikó Raimondi, Irina Samoilova, Stanislav Schwez, etc.
