PINK FLOYD for piano AyseDeniz Gokcin (USA). Baltic tour

The Turkish pianist virtuoso and composer AyceDeniz Gokcin at Jurmala Dzintari concert hall will start her first Baltic tour. She became famous worldwide by writing arrangements in the classical style only for piano for the well-known songs of rock bands Pink Floyd, Nirvana as well as creating other original projects putting together classical music with rock. She has appeared on BBC News, Vogue, Classic FM, Prog Rock Magazine and other scenes. The British Arts Council appreciated the artist by giving her Exceptional Talent and virtuosity visa. The pianist has won awards for many performances of classical music, but most of all she is proud of herself of success in combining rock and classical music.

“I want to bring crazy performers and composers, from two different centuries together, through the power of the piano,” – says revolutionary AyseDeniz.

AyseDeniz was considered a children’s producer in her native Turkey and made her debut at the age of nine with the Gordion Chamber Orchestra, playing J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Keyboards No. 5. At the age of thirteen, she has already performed as a soloist with various orchestras. To continue her mastery studies as a pianist and composer, the girl studied in London Royal Academy of Music.  During her career, the pianist has appeared in various important halls of the world in Switzerland, Great Britain, Cyprus, Ukraine, the USA, Argentina, Portugal, Italy, Germany and many more places.

For the first time, Pink Floyd’s project, titled „Pink Floyd sings in the style of Franz Liszt”, was presented by AyseDeniz in 2011, celebrating Liszt’s 200th anniversary. It was a revolutionary event, arrangements for piano, the concert was shown on the Internet. Later it went viral and was shown on Classic FM, BBC News, as well as on Pink Floyd’s official Facebook page:

By the request of fans, the composer released the album „Pink Floyd Classical Concept” and presented it internationally: she performed the project in Argentina, Bulgaria, Portugal, the USA, Morocco, Italy, Spain, Ecuador, Turkey and Germany. Pink Floyd’s arrangements were performed by Ayse for 3000 listeners on the main stage of the Pianocity Festival in Milan.

This young musician creatively uses the tools of the Internet, masterfully presenting powerful rock classics from the point of view of the classical music. In this way, she already has more than 500 thousand fans and followers around the world (youtube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram), and she gives piano lessons at the Borderless Piano Academy founded by her.

PROGRAM

For the Latvian audience, the pianist will play immmortal Pink Floyd songs, as well as several of her own compositions. It will be assisted by the Quartet of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (headed by Rihards Strauss).
