A musical meeting and conversation about the life and works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart together with pianist Vestard Šimkus, and a screening of the film “Amadeus” (1984).
Amadeus is a 1984 American film directed by Miloš Forman. The author of the film script is Peter Shaffer, based on his 1979 play of the same name.
The film is about Mozart and his rivalry with Antonio Salieri. It stars F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hulce, Elizabeth Berridge, Simon Callow, Roy Dotrice, Christine Ebersole, Jeffrey Jones and Charles Kay.
The film was nominated for the Academy Award in 11 nominations, of which the victory was achieved in eight, including the film itself was recognized as the best of the year. Salieri’s portrayal of F. Marie Abraham was recognized as the best actor of the year, Mozart’s portrayal of Tom Hals was nominated in this category.
