Daymé Arocena is an Afro-Cuban jazz singer from Havana, a Grammy nominee and laureate of various prestigious vocalist contests. She started her artistic career at the age of eight and is considered a musical wunderkind. Vice Magazine have called her ‘the world’s next jazz phenomenon’. Line Kruse, long-time member of the world-famous Gotan Project, is a Danish violinist and composer currently living in France. Her forte is pushing boundaries in music. Powerful rhythms and lyrical simplicity are at the core of her diverse brand of music, both intimate and extraverted at the same time. She has successful collaborations with creative South American artists in Paris, which makes her familiar with Latin rhythms in music and makes her a great stage partner for Daymé. This program will offer jazz tunes infused with Cuban rhythms.
