Location: Small Hall
Event Producer: Dzintari Concert Hall

Participants:
Daumants Liepiņš, pianist
Jānis Ozols, concert host

Pianist Daumants Liepiņš is the recipient of the 2017 Grand Music Award in the category of “Artist of the Year.” The young musician dazzles the juries of prestigious competitions and leaves no one indifferent who has had the privilege of hearing his playing. An extraordinary talent – a subtle and sensitive chamber musician, who is also familiar with the charismatic performance of a soloist accompanied by an orchestra. His piano playing is technically flawless, while his interpretations are convincingly profound and emotionally rich. In his new concert program, Liepiņš includes compositionally vivid and romantically infused pieces created in different eras. Alongside Pēteris Vasks’ picturesque observations of nature – “Summer Evening Music” and “Green Landscape,” there will also be a newly written piece specifically for Daumants by Arturs Maskats, as well as the dynamic and emotionally charged Third Piano Sonata by the master of absolute music, Johannes Brahms, and the impressive etudes “Devil’s Staircase” and “Autumn in Warsaw” by the rarely performed 20th-century avant-garde composer from Latvia, György Ligeti. And it remains to be said that the year 2023 marks the 190th anniversary of Brahms and the 100th anniversary of Ligeti!

Program: Johannes Brahms, György Ligeti, Pēteris Vasks, Arturs Maskats, etc.
