Singing Actors Festival “Viena vieta uz brieža vēl brīva”

On August 18:00, Dzintari Concert Hall will host a unique musical event — the Singing Actors Festival “Viena vieta uz brieža vēl brīva”, offering audiences the chance to enjoy excellent music performed by the best singing actors from Latvian theatres. The concert will feature Mārcis Maņjakovs, Madara Botmane, Karīna Tatarinova, Lelde Dreimane, Katrīna Griga, Edgars Pujāts, Juris Hiršs, Kristians Kareļins, Imants Strads, Lauris Dzelzītis, Artis Robežnieks, Varis Vētra, Andris Bērziņš, Aldis Siliņš, Ģirts Rāviņš, and Elīna Bojarkina.

This evening will include songs by Raimonds Pauls, Imants Kalniņš, Ivars Vīgners, Zigmars Liepiņš, Juris Kulakovs, and others — songs from theatre performances as well as beloved classics such as “Inese”, “Kad man maziņam”, “Palaid puķīti pa dambi”, “Gandrīz tautasdziesma”, “Tā es tevi mīlēšu”, “Ak, Trīnīt, manu sirdspuķīt”, “Lilioma dziesma”, and more, which over time have become part of the Latvian cultural canon. The actors on stage will not only sing but also share their personal connections to their roles, songs, and the audience.

“The concert’s title ‘Viena vieta uz brieža vēl brīva’ (a line from ‘Lilioma dziesma’ by Imants Kalniņš and Māris Čaklais, once performed in the legendary Latvian National Theatre production ‘Lilioms’, and now regarded as a theatre anthem) combines light irony with symbolic depth. It reminds us that art is both a journey and a challenge — and there is always room for someone else to join in,” say the concert organizers. They add: “This will be an evening where acting, actors whose voices and stage charisma speak for themselves, and the emotional power of theatre songs come together. In the air of Dzintari Concert Hall, you will feel both nostalgia and a celebration of life!”

Tickets for the concert are available through the “Biļešu paradīze” ticket network.
