The enigmatic project Enigma will perform live in a spectacular show.
Three Grammy nominations, 70 million records sold, and over 100 gold and platinum certifications – these achievements represent only the visible peak of this mysterious project.
The Enigma project was created in the 1980s by German producer Michael Cretu and captivated millions of listeners with its unique and unparalleled sound. This distinctive musical synthesis combines Gregorian chants, ethnic psalms, church bells, organ music, and other instruments, creating an atmospheric, and sometimes even psychedelic, soundscape. The extraordinary volume of records sold and the mystery surrounding the artists’ identities made Enigma one of the most popular and enigmatic musical projects of recent decades.
Enigma’s success has inspired numerous artists and producers, including the project Gregorian, known for its repertoire of modern pop and rock songs performed in Gregorian chant style. However, despite its remarkable achievements, Enigma never embarked on a concert tour or participated in live shows – it was always a studio project with no initial plans to perform on stage.
In 2018, DC Music created the project Original Enigma Voices, trademarked it, and began producing a show featuring the original vocalists who participated in Enigma’s studio recordings and contributed significantly to the project’s success. Among them, the unforgettable voice of Angel X from the megahit Return to Innocence holds a special place.
Between 2018 and 2024, these concerts were enhanced with a live band and string orchestra. However, in 2024, DC Music decided to reimagine many aspects of the project. As Jens Gad, former co-producer of Enigma, explained:
“We returned to the essence of Enigma’s music – its mystical and atmospheric nature – realizing that previous live show interpretations didn’t fully capture the soul of these compositions. By stripping away excess and going back to the roots, we are starting a new chapter.”
