On July 10, the legendary British trip-hop band Morcheeba will perform at the “Dzintari” Concert Hall. Formed in London, this trio became pioneers of trip-hop and downtempo, blending lounge rhythms, bluesy vibes, and, of course, the hypnotic voice of Skye Edwards. Their music is the perfect soundtrack for a summer evening by the sea.
Over three decades, the band has released 10 studio albums, selling over 10 million copies worldwide, touring across the globe, and firmly establishing their status as trip-hop icons.
Their 11th album, Escape The Chaos, is a 12-track journey in search of harmony amidst chaos, created in an atmosphere of warm family and friendly support. It fuses exquisite live instrumentation, electronic soundscapes, and Skye’s signature velvety vocals. The album’s lead single, Call For Love, is a slow, deep anthem about tolerance, support, and unity in turbulent times. The second single, We Live and Die, surprises with its combination of brass instruments, electric guitar, and powerful vocals, creating an almost cinematic soundscape.
The album was recorded over two years, with contributions from close friends and family, adding even more sincerity and warmth to the music. The final track, Escape The Chaos, encapsulates the album’s core message: finding inner peace despite the chaos around us. “Music won’t bring peace to the world, but it can provide inner calm and healing,” says Skye Edwards.
These new compositions, along with beloved classics like Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, The Sea, Otherwise, Enjoy the Ride, and more, will be performed live in Jūrmala. Don’t miss the chance to experience this atmospheric and mesmerizing summer concert on July 10 at Dzintari Concert Hall!
