Mixed choir MASKA | Conductor Jānis Ozols

Christmas is the time when the choir MASKA is most pleased to meet its audience.

This year, we will celebrate togetherness with a concert program, in which the songs of the legendary Latvian rock group “Pērkons” will thunder in the voices of the choir and especially cosmic Christmas melodies of the vocal group “Cosmos”, beloved by all, will be sung under the leadership of conductor Jānis Ozols.

Compositions of “Pērkons” will be performed commissioned a cappella arrangements by Andris Sējāns, Edgars Linde, Laura Leontjeva, Kristaps Šoriņš, Dace Mangulsone, Jānis Ķirsis and Jānis Ozols. Among them – a dedication by Juris Kulakovs to the choir MASKA, which was made after the conductor Jānis Ozols’ last conversation with the composer about honoring the work of “Pērkons” in choir arrangements!

From the band’s most melancholic ballads to powerfully charged and sing-along songs, the combination of Latvian rock and choral music can be truly great, and MASKA is ready to demonstrate it.

Along them – MASKA will perform Christmas melodies of the vocal group “Cosmos” from the album “Ticu Un Viss” and the most beautiful arrangements of “Cosmos”, leading aufience both on a contemplative sound journey and giving a dose of good humor.
