Reinier Elizarde “el Negrón”, bass
Michael Olivera, drums.
Daniel García has become one of the most original and influential jazz voices of the new generation in Spain.
Flamenco, jazz, classical music… and Daniel García encompasses much more in his musical essence. He describes himself as an eclectic artist who has also delved into rock music, electronic music, Middle Eastern music, Cuban rhythms, and even medieval music and Gregorian chants. “Spanish culture has been influenced by so many things – and they have left their mark on me as well.”
After many years together and a shared musical journey, the interaction between Daniel and his bandmates – bassist Reinier El Negrón and drummer Michael Olivera – has become incredibly organic, deep, and almost telepathic: “When we play together, we are constantly in a deep state of listening. We continuously exchange musical information and respond to it – as if we were creating a real-time musical sculpture. It is a very intense experience in which the audience also plays a crucial role because what happens on stage is only half of the equation. We receive an immense flow of energy and information from the listeners, which we transform into music for them, creating this incredible feedback loop that makes every concert a unique adventure.”
