Igor Guberman, originally from Kharkov, is one of the most prominent poets of our time. Since the 1950s, he has been engaged in literary activity, publishing popular science books and publishing poems in samizdat. Since 1987, he has lived in Israel. He received wide fame thanks to his aphoristic and satirical quatrains. His so-called gariki are famous throughout the world. It is not for nothing that the author was nicknamed “the master of poetic miniatures.” In the gariki, laughter and tears, fiction and truth, high poetry and despicable everyday life are mixed. The subjects Guberman writes about are as eternal and timeless as human life itself, and no one else has managed to write about these subjects so briefly, funny and precisely. He publishes his books, goes on tour abroad. His humor is still as constant as ever.
