Immortal Beloved is a 1994 biographical film written and directed by Bernard Rose. The main roles are played by Gary Oldman, Jeroen Krabbé, Isabella Rossellini, and Johanna ter Steege. The film portrays the life and death of the legendary Ludwig van Beethoven. Alongside the music he composed, Beethoven once wrote a famous love letter to an unknown “beloved” — the film explores the mystery of this woman’s identity.
