The great opera singers will lead the audience into the love stories from popular operas created by different composers. Here, love does not obey any laws. It swells to a sweet and passionate catharsis, while it also makes you experience sadness, separation, and longing for the ideal. This is vividly revealed in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s subtly psychological masterpiece “Don Juan”; the comic opera “The Bartered Bride” by Bedřich Smetana, which is filled with love alterations; and in Jules Massenet’s
“Werther” – the pearl of French romance, which is based on the tragic love story of the young poet Werther. We will also hear excerpts from the great hits of opera enthusiasts – Giuseppe Verdi’s “Traviata”, which is often referred to as the queen of beauty of all Verdi operas.
